Robert and his twin brother Arnold.
Back in January the Bird, Kristi Lynn, and I paid a visit to our friends Robert and Arnold Morales aboard his boat Pachuca. Robert has sailed Pachuca from his home in Australia across the Pacific to Seattle, San Francisco, and down to the Sea of Cortez where he is now. Sohrob met up with Morales while in Hawaii with the Princess Taiping, and I’ve been following his blog, Pachuca Circumnavigation, ever since. It is without a doubt the best writing about the experience of sailing since Bernard Moitessier.

Criteria for a rough bedframe: modular, cheap, sturdy, minimal, hand-made, not fucking IKEA. Importantly, this bed breaks down and reassembles easily for transport in small cars or on MUNI. Makings:
- 3 2x6 - frame
- 1 2x4 - rails to support slats
- 3 1x4 - slats
- 1 4x4 - legs
- 16 1/4in bolts, nuts
- 32 washers

Designed and coded NKZD.org with co-conspirator, writer, documentarian, and sailor Sohrob NIkzad, aka Manbird, over coffee and backgammon.
Bill Breaker takes photos so good your heart will break and you will barf.
Jessie Duke, Microcosm Publishing

Caught a ride with Manbird to Portland for a celebration weekend with dear friends Adam & Jessie. A rawk-a-dawk-a-dawk cock in the house, rowdy dogs, vegan last supper, strippers, dance party, and my very own bed. Fuck it is nice to have your own bed on the road. Through and through a good storm before the hell.
